Specializing in New Jersey Public Construction, Brockwell & Carrington is a second-generation family owned SBE, founded in 1994 by Michael B. Dassatti.
As Brockwell & Carrington approaches its fourth decade, its genesis dates back even further, as after graduating high school in 1983, Michael began working full-time in residential construction while attending St. Peter’s College and then Fairleigh Dickenson University in the evening.
While Michael was pursuing his education in business and construction related courses, he continued his employment in the field, working for larger and more prominent commercial contractors, acquiring the experience necessary for his success in commercial construction.
During his mid-twenties, Michael taught adult classes on Blueprint Interpretation and Sketching at Hudson County Vocational School in the evenings, while continuing working in construction during the day.
Through his work ethic, ambition and initiative, Brockwell & Carrington was born.
Initially, the company’s focus was high end residential construction, performing the vast majority of General Building Trades in house. Soon after, Brockwell & Carrington expanded into private commercial construction as a General Contractor in addition to projects in the public sector as a Sub-Contractor. Business flourished and Brockwell & Carrington developed a phenomenal reputation in the industry.
Confidence gained by bonding companies soon followed, at which time Brockwell & Carrington began performing bonded work on its own, enabling the company to venture further into both commercial and public projects. Initially Brockwell & Carrington’s bonding capacity was $200,000. Through hard work and determination that bonding capacity has now increased to $250 million. Its NJSDA as well as its DPMC Aggregate Construction Rating is presently UNLIMITED.
