CONSTRUCTION FIELD REPRESENTATIVE

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Loudoun County, Virginia is currently seeking a full-time Construction Field Representative (Field Technician) within the department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure.

The position will provide a field presence for the County during the construction phases of complex facility and park projects through regular inspections and attendance at project meetings, with emphasis on participation during punchlist inspections, commissioning, trainings, furniture installations and end-user occupancy.

The duties include, but not limited to:

  • Oversee quality control of construction projects
  • Coordinate inspections
  • Manage, plans, monitors and review project works, schedules, compliance, problems, project needs and scope
  • Manages County subcontractors and reports non-compliance with contract requirements

The Construction Field Representative will work closely with the County’s Construction Managers, end-users departments, and the County’s of General Services to ensure the successful occupancy and operation of new County facilities. This position will require exceptional customer service and strong communications skills.

Salary commensurate with experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree preferred); four (4) years of work related experience with building trades or construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is preferred.  Appropriate construction related certifications and experience in construction management software, such as e-Builder are a plus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license; Must be able to inspect existing sites and active construction projects, often requiring walking and climbing elevated structures and uneven surfaces. May be exposed to inclement weather while in the field; Non-standard work hours may be required in limited situations.
