Since formation as a subsidiary of Gardner Company in 2018, rPlus has established a portfolio of over 30 projects across the U.S. representing nearly 10 gigawatts of new renewable energy capacity, executed over 630 megawatts of corporate renewable PPAs, and commenced construction of its first utility-scale project, an 80-megawatt solar power plant in Utah.

Hydro Program Manager

Position Overview:

The Program Manager (PM) determines method of planning and execution of large pumped hydro energy storage (pumped storage) infrastructure projects.  The PM manages resource allocation inclusive of funds and personnel through the development and construction FERC licensing, permitting, design, contract management and stakeholder engagement.  He/She should anticipate traveling to project site(s) a minimum of two times a month, or approximately 25% to 40% travel.

General Responsibilities:

  • Initiating and setting goals for specified pumped storage project(s)
  • Develop the Project Execution Plan, ensuring the project(s) is aligned to and delivers in accordance with the Client’s standards and method
  • Work with the technical and permitting teams in coordinating and managing the design, licensing and permitting of the project(s)
  • Planning project(s) programs from start to finish, including procedures, milestones and deadlines
  • Budgeting oversight for project program development, permitting, design, construction, operations and monitoring
  • Be responsible for the project(s) risk register and periodic reporting on progress throughout the project lifecycle 
  • Engage with local, State and Federal stakeholders for project(s) coordination and support
  • Staying informed on all updated laws and regulations, making sure all project(s) programs are within the scope of those laws


  • 20 plus years of experience with large-scale infrastructure projects, including energy project development.
  • Experience with hydroelectric project and pumped storage development is particularly desirable.
  • Bachelors in relevant field required.  Masters a bonus.
  • Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft office suite software and project management software.
  • Advanced written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills
