Quality Control Director

to Join our Central Construction Team Located in Irving, TX

 The role of the Quality Control Director is to provide supervisory service to manage and implement the JPI Quality Control Program. This position is responsible for the implementation, documentation, and execution of the Program. The Quality Control Director reports directly to the Senior Quality Control Director

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a representative and advocate of JPI’s Culture and Guiding Principles.
  • Foster a culture of exceptional construction quality through field leadership and active involvement with the on-site associates.
  • Provide coaching, feedback and information to facilitate the efficient completion of work to comply with the Quality Plan
  • Assure all materials, workmanship, and construction meet JPI quality standards
  • Oversee third party consultants and inspections
  • Inspect subcontractors’ work for compliance with Quality Control and ADA/FHA checklists.
  • Set the project’s unit standards and ensure continuity and consistency throughout all projects
  • Ensure all deficiencies are corrected and documented
  • Maintain and enforce the Quality Control assurance guidelines approved by the Company.
  • Develop and supervise Quality Department team members by interviewing, hiring, orienting, and training employees, and manages their performance in accordance with Company policies, values, and business practices.
  • Communicate with senior management to provide updates on the status of projects, address concerns, and plan specific actions as needed to address plan deficiencies or deficient means and methods in the field. 
  • Conduct regular project site inspections for all aspects of construction phases to address and make modification to work in place if warranted.
  • Inspect the final output, comparing it to the requirements, and approve or reject the final products
  • Become familiar with job specifications, drawings, and contract documents to ensure requirements are met for each construction process
  • Inspect, evaluate, and document work in a timely manner to not impact the progression of work going forward
  • Identify non-conformities, analyze root causes, recommend corrective measures, and manage to resolution with on-site teams
  • Maintain accurate field documentation through written form and maintain up to date construction documents and job files.
  • Prepare observation report of each visitation on Procore.
  • Conduct one-on-one reviews of inspection results with Project Superintendent after each site visitation.
  • Attend all Mock-Up meetings and participate in the Mock-Up review process.


Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Attend Pre-Construction meetings as needed
  • Assist site teams with documentation and testing
  • Assist in the resolution of on-site subcontractor issues as it relates to QC.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s in construction or related field is required.
  • Prefer a minimum of five years of construction experience with at least three years multi-family construction experience required.
  • Must be familiar with multi-family construction procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of construction building practices.
  • PC proficient and have a good knowledge of construction and business software, including Procore, scheduling, estimating, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Advanced understanding of construction means and methods, exposure to construction drawings and specifications and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while continuing to meet project deadlines, exceptional problem-solving, analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Study project drawings and specification to determine intended construction methods.
  • Conscientious and responsible
  • A keen eye for detail and a result driven approach
  • In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
