ISD supports governmental operations by providing a variety of essential services to County departments including: countywide procurement and vendor services, capital program management, construction and renovation management, facility management, surplus property disposition, fleet management, risk management, capital inventory administration, small business development, real estate development, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, elevator regulation and elevator contract management, materials management, printing services, and parking services. ISD provides services to internal and external customers and stakeholders including County departments and employees, municipalities, the business community, and Miami-Dade County residents and visitors.

Senior Professional Engineer

The Senior Professional Engineer is an advanced professional and supervisory engineering work with administrative responsibility for the oversight and management of capital infrastructure construction projects. This position will supervise complex engineering functions for County departments while managing construction and renovation projects of varied budget and scope.  Duties will include the management of professional teams of various disciplines, Program Management Specialists, contractors and construction managers to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects, development and review of complicated engineering specifications for construction contracts, signing and/or sealing permit applications and documents as a Professional Engineer, coordination of numerous planning and engineering functions, among other duties.  This position will receive general direction from a professional superior who will review work for the effective management of construction projects and engineering services towards the achievement of desired department goals and objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

Must possess a State of Florida Professional Engineer license. A minimum of four to seven years of mechanical engineering experience is required.

Experience in the oversight of capital infrastructure construction projects involving the management of professional teams of various disciplines, contractor or construction managers preferred. Project Management Professional certificate preferred.
