Department Information, Job Summary and Essential Job Functions:

NOTE:  The normal starting salary for this position is $80,388.00/annually.   A higher salary may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City's step placement policy.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
This position will primarily function as Bond Program Manager.  Otherwise qualified applicants who do not possess a valid Professional Engineers License may be considered as an Engineering Projects Manager.  The salary range for the Engineering Projects Manager classification is $76,525.20 to $117,032.40/annually.

JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This classification is located in the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department with the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of a Civil Engineer V or other division head.  The primary purpose of this position is to supervise an engineering work section.  The employee may serve as the primary City contact regarding the assigned engineering discipline or function.  Job duties require the use of previously acquired administrative and technical knowledge and skills.  Essential job functions include:  developing sectional goals and objectives; planning, organizing, and reviewing all projects assigned to subordinate staff; participating in and overseeing the development of plans and specifications for public-works engineering projects; and ensuring that engineering projects comply with plans and specifications.  The employee provides technical expertise to subordinate staff, assigning projects or functions and improving methods and procedures.  The employee has frequent contact with City officials and staff, engineering consultants, architects, contractors, developers, and the public to exchange technical information on public-works engineering matters.  Work is performed primarily independently, with work products reviewed periodically through staff reports, conferences, and visual observations by the Division/Department head for overall effectiveness and adherence to policies, directives, and instructions.
