Summary: A Quality Assurance Inspector works with the Contractor and the Quality Control team to ensure that the project meets the contract requirements and industry standards. They also recommend methods that can improve the processes. Competencies: Graduation from high school and (5) years of experience in construction or any equivalent combination of education and experience. NYSDOT and/or locally administered Federal Aid project experience preferred. Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the performance of construction inspection duties, including three, (3) years' experience in construction of major public facilities, including experience with operating railroads. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess ability to read plans and specifications, write reports and procedure manuals. Availability to work night shift as required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ensure that the construction matches what is defined in the “Released For Construction” plans Design-Builder’s Quality Program (DBQP). Development and implementation of quality assurance programs under the supervision of the Quality Manager. Material coordination (delivery, reception and material certifications). Continuous review of QC testing and hold point activities. Perform field training for greater understanding of Quality Control. Monitor and track the construction inspections through the daily inspection reports. Site contact in any quality matter for the construction team. Quality representation at toolbox meetings and construction workshops. Off-site quality inspections at the manufacturer's yard/shop. Key contact to coordinate QC and Verification activities.
