Position Summary / Objective: The Assistant Superintendent provides project management and oversight to a project site to ensure construction projects are completed to company specifications. Ensures that complete, accurate, and up to date records are maintained. Oversees the daily operations of the assigned project site. Qualifications: Supervision and scheduling of job activities Scheduling of multiple shifts during the week and weekends Extensive project planning, coordination, and scheduling of subcontractors Prepare daily worksite reports Resolve union disputes Material take-off Enforce site safety at all times Oversee daily field operations, coordinate purchases Gives direction to employees in all areas of project assigned Makes high level risk decisions in a timely and professional manner Maintaining a presence on the construction site Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related major 5+ years heavy construction experience Additional work experience may be considered in substitution for a college/university degree Local knowledge and experience with all major agencies (MTA, DEP, DOT, etc) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies: Interpersonal skills – able to work well and persuade people at all organization levels Strong communication skills
