Water & Sewer Department

Professional Engineer

Salary Range:  $69,560.14 - $119,702.96

The Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department is seeking an innovative Professional Engineer with technical experience for the Utilities Development Division who will be responsible for supervising review of design and construction of water and sewer pipelines and related projects. The incumbent will also serve the Engineer of Record for specific projects.

The Professional Engineer will have knowledge and technical experience in the following areas: meet with the customers and/or their consultants to discuss standards,  specifications, regulations, etc. to be used for their water and/or sewer connection design plans; supervise the unit and provide quality control reviews; provide training on reviewing  and processing all developer water and sewer projects plans and applications to verify that it is done properly per MDWASD standards & specifications and any other applicable agency requirements; assist staff and internal customers on resolutions of field conditions during construction of the donation projects and/or approve deviations during design or construction of the same; coordination with WASD divisions, points of connection, special reviews and others as needed; sign and date applications on behalf of the Department for donation and other municipal projects; Monitors e-Builder and records information for the donation projects and keep up to date tracking on all project status and timely delivery of review schedule; perform all related tasks necessary for a proper planning, design, construction, and conveyance of the projects and preparing and delivering a presentation to the industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Must possess a State of Florida Professional Engineer license. A minimum of three years of professional engineering experience to include design is required.
