The Procurement Specialist is responsible for assisting the Regional Procurement Manager with all major project specific solicitations undertaken by the Regional Office.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

· Identify and evaluate new vendors for heavy/civil construction projects.

· Maintain LANE’s database of suppliers and subcontractors for each area in which the Regional Office bids.

· Work with the Bid Team to review material and subcontractor requirements; solicit and compile quotations and then recommend purchases to the Operations Team, based upon the most advantageous combination of price, quality, delivery, and other value added supplier services.

· Prepare Bid Invitations utilizing iSqFt, LANE’S chosen solicitation software package.

· Document solicitations and follow-up communications with all vendors invited to bid on a project.

· Ensure that DBE/SBA solicitation requirements are met pre-bid and assist the Operations Team with additional post-bid solicitations as needed.

· Maintain communication with the Operations Team to stay aware of the performance level of the chosen vendors.

· Establish, Nurture and Maintain Relationships with vendors required for the free flow of information concerning market trends impacting the heavy/civil market.

· And Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Excellent Math and Computer Skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Modules, iSqFt, Sharepoint and Heavy Bid.

· BS degree in a "Civil Engineering Related Field" desired, or equivalent experience

· Minimum of 8 years of related experience

· Ability to read and interpret heavy/civil plans and specifications

· Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

· Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

· Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills

· Marketing and sales experience/skills a plus

· Be a "Team Player"
