WESTCHESTER COUNTY

First Deputy Commissioner of Public Works & Transportation

Westchester County Government has an opening for a First Deputy Commissioner of Public Works and Transportation, to assist in directing, administering and planning all departmental operations to include engineering, all surface transportation operations, and facilities management for all County departments. Facilities include the County office building and other sites in White Plains, as well as the operations at the County’s campus in Valhalla, a 500-acre site where responsibility for facility management includes the Westchester County Medical Center, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, the Westchester County Correctional facility, the Department of Labs and Research and the County’s Heating Plant.

The selected candidate will also be substantively involved in developing the $1.5 billion County’s capital plan to include all projects for all County departments, and will be responsible for working with staff on the five-year capital plan for proposed projects as well as oversight for all work in progress to ensure contracted work is completed in accordance with specifications and time requirements.

The selected candidate will act for and on behalf of the Commissioner in his/her absence and must possess a Professional Engineer’s license and ten years of professional experience.
