Job Title: Heavy Equipment / Erosion Control Operator Reports to: Project Engineer / General Super intendent Location: Durham, NC FSLA: Non Exempt SUMMARY: The Heavy Equipment Operator will work with the Erosion Control Crew and will be responsible for operating one or several types of equipment, such as front end loader, roller, bulldozer, excavator, and skid steer. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES: Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, and/or loss of life. Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, including but not limited to, utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and the general public. Daily and routine inspections of equipment. Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met. Coordinate machine operations with other work activities REQUIREMENTS: Must have minimum of 3 years experience operating, maneuvering, driving, and navigating equipment such as excavators, skid steers, trench rollers, and front-end loaders. Must have experience with erosion control maintenance and installation of basins, ditches, and other erosion control devices Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively Ability to work in a team environment Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs Must be willing and able to utilize hand tools for operations as necessary Demonstrate particular attention to detail Ability to read construction plans and understand plan layouts Knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices Erosion Control Certification (Level 1) preferred but not required DRAGADOS USA, INC I S AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
