DRAGADOS USA POSITION DESCRIPTION Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic Division/Department: Operations Reports to: Equipment Manager Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina FLSA: Non-exempt SUMMARY: The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment including but not limited to: Excavators, Dozers, Back Hoes, Compact Loaders, Mini Excavators, Dump Trucks, Cranes, Pad Foot Rollers, Motor Graders, Smooth Rollers, Fork Lifts, Broce Brooms, Trench Rollers, etc. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES: Receive and review daily inspections of all heavy equipment used within the project and resolve issues or schedule repairs. Inspect all equipment and detect excessive wear; complete programing for the replacement of worn out parts in addition to completing preventative maintenance for equipment. Effectively interact with Operators, Foreman and Superintendent for necessary maintenance and coordinate repairs with Superintendents. Provide coordination and supervision of major repairs with external technicians. Responsible for parts inventory and equipment provided to complete the duties outlined for position. REQUIREMENTS: Valid CDL Driver License with Tank and Hazard Material endorsements Degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, engine repair or similar. Familiarity with parts and components of complex machinery and engines, as well as the tools to fix them. Familiarity with electronics system, hydraulic system, A/C system, ability to read blueprints, or use electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs. Ability to look at mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and A/C systems, identify problems, and identify possible solutions. Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively Ability to work in a team environment Ability to multi-task Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of arms and legs Must be able to work overtime, as required.
