Job Title: Document Control Assistant Division/Department: Operations Reports to: Accounting Manager Location: Kernersville, NC FSLA: Exempt SUMMARY The Document Control Assistant is responsible for maintaining the flow and reporting of construction documentation throughout the construction process. The individual will be responsible for daily data entry input of payroll and purchase order information , scanning, filing, creating and maintaining spreedsheets via excel. The individual will be trained in the implementation of accounts payable information to gain exposure to the Company’s policies and procedures. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Document Control/Compliance Responsible to process all submittals. Maintain updated Submittal Log, monitor the submittal schedule and status. Receive, log, and track plans and specifications as received including all revisions, Maintain all hard copy files of project documentation. Maintain electronic copy files of project documentation. Track and file project photos. Work with NCDOT’s representatives as required. Support Project Manager, Superintendents, Engineers, Safety and Accounting in regards to purchase order, payroll , and other project documents. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Verify accuracy of subcontractor Certified Payroll against Daily Reports and submit to NCDOT REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration a definite plus. 2 or more years’ experience in the Construction Industry. (preferred) Proven knowledge of construction documents including handling submittals. Knowledge of the construction process, proven ability in planning, organizing and implementing work priorities to ensure the orderly flow of construction documentation throughout the construction process. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating directly with subcontractors, engineers and administrative staff. Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook with proficiency in other construction industry standard software packages is a strong plus.
