The Construction Management Program at Indiana State University invites candidates to apply for a position of Assistant/Associate Professor – 10 month, tenure track. The Construction Management Program is located in the Built Environment (BE) Department. The BE Department was established in 2010 and is the home of four programs: Construction Management, Safety Management, Interior Architecture Design, and Architectural Engineering Technology.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching in the area of (but not limited to) foundational topics of construction, pre-construction, project development, and project management. Delivery of course materials in on-campus sections must be replicated through Indiana State University's highly-regarded online program. Experience in horizontal construction is desirable.

The candidate will actively contribute to continuing program development, collaborate with colleagues, and engage with students to promote curriculum in areas of construction management. This individual will teach related topics in an intensely active, outcomes-based learning environment in which innovative pedagogy, timely curriculum, creative assignments, and excellence in student work is paramount.

Additional responsibilities essential for the position include:

  • Serve on internal and external committees,
  • Recruit prospective students,
  • Student advising,
  • Engage with industry,
  • Curriculum development,
  • Outcome assessment, and
  • Reaccreditation.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Phd in Construction Management or closely related discipline. Experience in the domestic United States construction industry required.
