The Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) Department at Iowa State University (ISU) seeks candidates for a term (non-tenure eligible) faculty position to teach engineering core courses at the undergraduate level.

The successful candidate is envisioned to be a skilled and enthusiastic educator who is able to use an appropriate mix of traditional and innovative approaches, including asynchronous learning, to deliver the fundamentals of civil engineering and engineering mechanics. This person will teach courses at the undergraduate level, advise undergraduate students, participate in technical committees and outreach activities, and exhibit a commitment to inclusivity and diversity. The CCEE Department offers B.S. degree programs in civil engineering, civil engineering with environmental engineering emphasis, and construction engineering plus M.S., MEng, and Ph.D. graduate degree programs in civil engineering. CCEE maintains externally funded research in excess of $16 million annually and demonstrates a commitment to diversity among faculty, staff and students who can enrich University objectives in the areas of research, teaching and service.

Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. OR a MS degree and 4 years of professional experience, OR a BS degree and 6 years of professional experience. Degree must be in civil engineering or a closely related field. Candidates for Senior Lecturer must, in addition to the above, have an additional 6 years of professional experience.

Preferred qualifications include professional engineering license or the ability to become licensed, industry experience in a related field or instructional experience in appropriate technical topics, evidence of strong communication skills, and evidence of a commitment to diversity/inclusivity.
