JOB LOCATION:  Houston, Texas

SUMMARY: The Talent Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for the recruiting process which includes reviewing resumes and applications, initial phone screens, scheduling and participating in the interviews, and offering recommendations in the selection process.  This position will support the organization’s needs in the southwest region, which currently has a heavy focus on the Houston market.  


  • Proactively source, screen, and assess candidates using a variety of outlets including but not limited to job postings, local partnerships, industry networking, employee referrals, internet sourcing, minority/trade job fairs, and social media platforms.
  • Communicate clear expectations of the recruiting process to potential candidates including the interview, offer, background check/drug test and onboarding.
  • Informs candidate about the company, position and benefits as needed.
  • Conducts reference checks, certification/license checks and obtains salary requirements.
  • Responsible for accurate record keeping and maintenance of the Taleo Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Creates accurate, well written, legal job descriptions and advertisements.
  • Build and maintain network of potential candidates through proactive market research (including competitor and market trends) for future hiring needs as well; stay up to date on trends.
  • Implements initiatives for diversity recruiting.
  • Develop relationships with colleges and universities by attending career fairs and spreading brand awareness.
  • Maintains good working relationship with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and ensure they are met.
  • Implements and maintains internal and external job posting records and procedures.
  • Assesses qualifications of successful new hires to further develop hiring criteria to enhance selection process to ensure we are hiring the right people for right job; follow-up with managers post-hire.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Assist with onboarding process as needed to ensure positive experience.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.


  • Must be Bilingual – Fluent English and Spanish – both verbal and written.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Talent Acquisition/recruitment experience, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong business acumen, effective communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of confidentiality..
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and familiarity with ATS and HRIS systems. Experience using Taleo and LinkedIn Recruiter preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in use of social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc…to drive company branding as well as source candidates.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment law, equal employment guidelines.
  • Motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and very detail oriented.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Travel on occasion may include overnight weekday or weekend stay.
