Title: Survey Technician

Location: California High Speed Rail



The Survey Technician will assist the Survey Manager in the analysis and preparation topographic surveys, as-builts, construction calculations, and 3D modeling.  Performs professional level technical work using CAD and related software. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Three years CAD experience

  • Five (5) years minimum surveying experience

  • LSIT is a plus

  • Proficient with Trimble Business Center-HCE, Microstation/Inroads, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office products

  • Working knowledge of common survey and construction practices and standards

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to interpret plans, legal descriptions, surveys etc.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to complete projects independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to process and edit line work, figures and surface models

  • Provide Construction Survey support to Survey Manager

  • Other Duties as assigned

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Work under time constraints and must be adaptable to changing conditions

  • Able to work extended or accelerated work schedules as required
