"Job Location:  Houston, Texas

Projects are located in southeast Harris County/southeast Houston.  The project is the Sam Houston Toll Road from State Highway 288 (SH 288) and Interstate Highway 45 (IH-45).


The Bridge Carpenter is responsible for providing formwork for placement of concrete.



  • Using small hand tools to construct and set forms

  • Assisting other coworkers in all necessary requirements to prepare for the placement of concrete

  • Loading and unloading of equipment

  • Interacting with sub contractors to provide required assistance on construction activities

  • Ensuring that all work is being performed per contract documents, specifications, and provisions

  • Ensuring that all OSHA and company safety requirements are implemented and used properly

  • Performs other duties as assigned



Pre-employment drug screening required.  EOE Women/Minorities/Veterans/Disabled

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years carpentry experience within the area of bridges/structures. Previous FDOT experience highly preferred. 

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent 

  • Must be able to communicate with others to convey information effectively.

  • Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions and loud noises

  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 15 to 50 pounds 3 to 5 times per day

  • Must demonstrate attention to details

  • Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices

  • Must be able to work in a team environment

  • Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (nights and weekends as needed)

  • Local candidates strongly preferred
