Job Location:  Houston, Texas

 Projects are located in southeast Harris County/southeast Houston.  The project is the Sam Houston Toll Road from State Highway 288 (SH 288) and Interstate Highway 45 (IH-45).                  

SUMMARY:

Repair, recondition and service heavy construction equipment, allied rolling stock and attachments.  Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and failures of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gas and diesel engine systems and their components. Work overtime and in adverse weather conditions as needed.  Adhere to company safety policy and procedures at all times.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively follow company safety policy and procedures on jobsite and promote safe behavior by others in work zone.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components.

  • Maintains all equipment in a good clean orderly condition and report all deficiencies to supervisors.

  • Plays an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project.

  • Perform federally required DOT annual truck and trailer inspections accurately completing required annual documentation.

  • Communicate with the Equipment Superintend throughout the day with information of equipment conditions and readiness.

  • Complete and file any applicable reports and paper work

  • Fulfill any Duties deemed necessary by the Equipment Manager or Equipment Superintendent.

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position (industry experience a plus).

  • Strong mechanical skills: Diesel, Hydraulic, Electrical etc..

  • Own and maintain required personal tools.

  • Appropriate manner, conduct and grooming adhering to company policy.

  • Current driver’s license / CDL required prior to hire.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Consistent attendance.
