STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Under general supervision, perform structural engineering design for Parks facilities.
•    Serve as project manager for design and construction projects.
•    Inspect sites and facilities; develop condition reports, recommendations, scopes of work, drawings, specifications and estimates. 
•    Perform peer reviews and give guidance to junior-level engineers.
•    Coordinate project specific interagency issues, such as permits, filings and approvals.  Prepare permit applications for seal and signature of Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering; submit to involved agencies.
•    Present projects as required for approvals internally and externally with other agencies.
•    Conduct field inspections as required before and during design and construction, through turnover.
•    Collaborate with other designers and supply designs, calculations and recommendations as requested.
•    Perform other technical duties as required by the agency.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1.    Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; and 
2.    A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License. Current New York State registration as a Professional Engineer must be maintained for the duration of your employment.

A masters degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) may be substituted for one year of the civil engineering experience required in “1" above.
This position is exempt from NYC residency requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
1.    Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field. 
2.    Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, STAAD Pro and/or other structural design software.
3.    Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
4.    A driver license valid in New York State. 

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000  

THIS POSITION YIELDS A COMPENSATION PACKAGE APPROACHING $145,000
