Executive Director, Project Controls

Columbia University, Manhattanville Development Group, is seeking an Executive Director for Project Controls to join a talented team of professionals working on aspects of development, design, and construction of the University’s 6.8 million sq. ft. Manhattanville campus expansion in West Harlem.

The successful candidate will bring a wealth of construction experience to oversee the construction project controls process on a variety of projects. He/she will develop best practices related to monitoring cost and schedule controls and provide support on construction activities as they relate to design specifications and contracts. In addition, the candidate will work closely with a team of finance experts to ensure the successful closeout of trades and development of comprehensive policies and procedures for contract administration activities. Performs other special assignments and may serve on committees as directed by the Associate Vice President.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in architecture, engineering, or construction technologies. A minimum of 8 to 10 years of related experience required, preferably in the management of construction or renovation projects, of which at least 7 years’ experience must include project controls responsibilities with projects of similar type and scale to those found in an institutional environment.
