Environmental Consultant

 

The Wake County Environmental Services Division of Water Quality promotes leadership in water management and sustainability and promotes health by protecting high quality water throughout Wake County. The Environmental Consultant in the Water Quality Division reviews designs, development plans and requests for permits to ensure regulatory conformance and accepted engineering principles and provides oversight, and quality control for the plan review process for stormwater management, sedimentation and erosion control and floodplain management. This position is often the first person to work with applicants, and should be ready to assist them with guidance and advice. This position also provides training and technical assistance to staff, cooperating agencies and the public. The position also responds to customer calls regarding permits.
